Lá Oidhreachta Dé Sathairn 19.8

Bígí linn ar an lá oidhreachta! Beidh siúlóid staire leis an údar aitheanta Mícheál Ó Laoghaire ag tosnú ag 14.00 ón ionad. Tá eolas cuimsitheach ag an Laoghaireach ar stair na cathrach agus beimid ag stadadh in áiteanna éagsúla ar an slí. Gheofar scéalta thar a bheith spéisiúil faoi na gnéithe ar leith a bhaineann le hoidhreacht sráideanna Chathair Chorcaí.

Beidh ceol agus sólaistí againn san ionad i ndiaidh na siúlóide agus is léir go mbeidh an-lá againn mar sin. Beidh na himeachtaí seo as Gaeilge agus tá fáilte roimh chách.

Club Leabhar

Tá an club leabhar ag dul ó neart go neart agus bhí an-phlé againn an tseachtain seo caite. Beidh an chéad chruinniú eile ag 19.30 ar 14ú Meán Fómhair. Mar sin tá go leor ama chun leabhar na míosa a léamh idir an dá linn. ‘Iad Seo nach Bhaca’ atá i gceist an babhta seo. Beidh cóipeanna ar fáil ónár siopa fé dheireadh na seachtaine. Más mian leat go gcuirfear cóip ar leataobh duit, téir i dteagmháil!

Beidh Gradam Uí Chuanacháin ar oscailt d’iarratais go deireadh mhí Lúnasa. Má chuireann gnó an Ghaeilge chun cinn, cuir chugainn iad agus bídís mar chuid den chomórtas.

Cork Heritage Open Day Saturday 19.8

There will be a historical walk around the city starting from Gael-Taca at 14.00. Mícheál Ó Laoghaire will guide us and give interesting stories behind the streets we walk every day and take for granted.

We will return to the Gael-Taca centre after the walk where there will be music and refreshments available. It promises to be a great day. The event will be conducted in Irish and all are welcome.

Book Club
The book club is going from strength to strength and our next meeting will be Thursday 14th September. Book of the month: Iad Seo nach Bhfaca. Copies of the book will be in the shop by the end of the week. Get in touch if you would like to have a copy put aside for you. All Welcome!

Upcoming Events
Tuesday coffee mornings will return officially in September.
The Thursday coffee morning continues as usual on Thursday at 11.00 in Gael-Taca.

Yoga is on a break until the end of August.
The parents and children group is on a break the end of August.
The Autumn Timetable will be finalised and announced at the end of the month.
Irish Classes for Adults with Gaelchultúr. Autumn 2017.

Course duration: 10 weeks. Class times: 7.00-9.00pm. Course Fee: €200.
Elementary: Mondays, begins 25/9/17
Lower Intermediate: Tuesdays, begins 26/9/17
Upper Intermediate: Tuesdays, begins 26/9/17

Gradam Uí Chuanacháin

Applications are now open for Gradam Uí Chuanacháin, the Irish in Business Awards. They will remain open until the end of the month. If you know of any business that promotes and uses Irish in any way, be sure to get them to contact us to be part of this years competition.
